Hiiii would you be willing to talk a bit more about your blood borne au? I don’t know much about the game but I was very intrigued by your drawings
Yeah of course! When I think about it I often imagine it in the actual game. So Moon would be an npc that you’d find in the sewers of central yharnam. For context, The healing church is pretty complicated but basically they’re part of the reason why the beast plague exists. Sun and Moon would be hunters of hunters, helping Eileen to kill hunters who give in to the beast plague.
Moon would be the first and only one of the three to start to succumb to bloodlust (how you contract the beast plague in the first place). It starts small with teeth growing sharper, fingers turning more claw like. It can be managed by being around Sun and Eileen, people he cares for, but then Moon gets ambushed by a beast. He ends up losing an eye and things take a turn for the worse. He ends up attacking Sun in a blood fueled rage.
Eileen solemnly moves to kill him, as she’s done with many of her hunter friends, but Sun stops her. This is also the point where Eileen would get The Blade of Mercy, her in-game weapon, from Moon (he won’t be needing it anymore). Sun knows that they should just put him out of his misery, but he wouldn’t be able to live with himself if he did. So, He manages to convince Eileen to help lead him on a doomed mission in her eyes, to the healing church. Moon ends up restrained, and the healing church promises to try and help him.
What Sun and Eileen DONT know is that they would use Moon to experiment with the plague. The church does want to try and get Moon back, but only mentally. Blood is the cause of the beast plague, so they try to drain his blood as much as they can. It’s torturous, and Moon who’s still partially there, begins to HATE. Hate the church, hate Eileen, but most of all hate Sun for not just killing him in the first place. His hatred begins to manifest itself physically, and he turns more monstrous than most, almost to the point of Vicar status (a high ranking member of the church who historically has always ended up becoming a powerful beast). Once the church realizes it isn’t working they come to the conclusion that it’s not only his blood that’s tainted, but his organs too.
They end up cutting him open, slowly replacing him with machinery. There’s no doubt he wouldn’t have survived if not for his transformation. In the end, the churches theory ends up working. Moon becomes himself again, but only in mind. This practice ends up becoming a more common occurrence, Father Gascoigne leading the charge in getting more… “patients.” Moon develops a deep hatred for Gascoigne, a man he’d previously respected, a man who he’d even considered a friend at one point. The church doesn’t let Moon go willingly, so Moon ends up escaping on his own leaving a trail of blood in his wake. Not out of bloodlust, but in a desperate need to escape the place that had tortured and mutilated him into the monster he was. At some point Sun goes to check on him, but by this point Moon has already escaped. The church informs him that they had gotten Moon back, but he left as soon as he could and asked them not to inform the people who had brought him. They don’t want Sun looking for him and discovering what had happened to Moon. What they’d done to him.
Sun leaves heart broken, but ultimately does not regret his decision in keeping Moon alive. Would he be able to say the same if he knew what they’d done and what he’d become? Who knows :)
That’s all I’ve got so far! Thanks for listening and asking about the AU!!! It’s so nice hearing people be interested in a AU I’ve made so tysm for that! <3
