I was wondering about a adoption with a (full-size ) King and a (Full-size) Chain. I have woods surrounding my house! The only issues that I can think of is that I have a disability that's makes it hard for me to be active at times. I love going on walks, but some days I just can't. I love soft things so I have a huge amount of blankets and a rather nice rose garden!

*Vex smiles and invites you out into the garden to meet some of the lamias who prefer outdoor activities. Kings and Chains are perfect choices for wooded areas. They’ll keep any unwanted pests out of your home, and will be able to hunt for themselves. Chains also enjoy climbing, and Kings will happily and lovingly tend to a garden. In fact, there’s a King in some rosebushes out in the garden already. He’s checking the blooms and the leaves to make sure the bush is healthy.

*You wander over to the roses, enjoying their lovely scent and the velvety soft petals. The King beams with pride, posing heroically next to the bush that he’s currently tending. You compliment him and his roses. Reaching out, he plucks a huge pink-edged white rose and tucks it behind your ear. Yup, he’s definitely the King you’ll be adopting. Now to follow that gentle tug in your chest to the Chain who must be nearby.

*The winding paths of the garden lead you to a big pile of leaves and pulled weeds. The discarded foliage makes a big soft nest for a Chain who is curled up, enjoying the sunlight with his sockets closed. His improvised nest and his oversized hoodie just looks so comfy, and you’ve worn yourself out walking… So you help yourself to a seat next to him. One of his sockets opens. He watches you with one deep orange eyelight, a smile across his features.

*The King flops down on the other side of the Chain, and you admire this foreshadowing of your lamia family to be. Unfortunately, you’re not sure that you’re going to be able to get back up and walk back to the shop. You’re embarrassed that your disability would announce itself now, but this gives the lamias an opportunity to decide whether it’s ok with them or not. You shouldn’t have worried.

*The King and Chain have a quick hissed discussion before the King sweeps you up bridal style. He carries you into the shop with the Chain holding the doors for you. It doesn’t seem to bother them at all. Your bad days won’t be quite as bad with the two capable lamias to help you.

Fell Reader

Woof. Yikes.

If looks could kill.

Common consensus between any and all Readers is that they are quiet souls; an introverted breed. But in the angry, shouting, screaming world of Underfell, UF!Reader stands out because she doesn’t shout.

She just has to give you a look.

UF!Reader is bitter, irritable and distrusting. However, her soul is still Green with Kindness, so although she isn’t friendly, approachable or even particularly pleasant to be around, she will treat those she cares for with a bizarre, back-handed kindness, thrusting food into the hands of the hungry with no words and no smiles, only a furrowed, frowning brow.

Anyone she doesn’t care for is met with a cold, numbing indifference.

She is incredibly nervous, most of the time, but swallows it down for the sake of saving face.

Horror Reader

The sweetest of the four Readers, HT!Reader has not had a good life, and continues to not have a good life, but doesn’t let that get in the way of her trying to appreciate every bit of goodness she can squeeze of it.

She takes any and all kindness she can get, and where she can, treats everyone with the same kindness she hopes to receive.

Patient, gentle and very soft-spoken, HT!Reader is... Refreshing, in the world of Horror Tale and in her blindness, operates largely through touch. Soft, tender touches that get certain crooked-teeth skeletons incredibly flustered.

She clings to her optimism because, well... She has very little else.

Incidentally, both Fell and Horror Readers are stranded in the Underground, while Classic and Swap Readers live on the surface.

How would Underfell, Swapfell (or fellswap I can never remember) and the Horrortale Skelebros react to a crush who is rather stoic but they are very affectionate and the crush just looks at them with such a soft smile.

Jasper (Underfell Sans): Doesn’t mind at all if they come off a little cold sometimes, he probably does, too. He’s never been one to wear his heart on his sleeve if he can help it so he gets it when he sees it coming from them. Besides, he can see that quiet affection of theirs, too, loud and clear– and he’s happy to show his own right back in private moments.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Always gets just a little flustered when they give him that kind of look. What are they playing at, making his soul thrum like this with just a smile? They are ruining his cool facade, he is going to figure out how to fluster them back, mark his words! He won’t rest until he makes them as crazy about him as he is about them!

Mal (Swapfell Sans): How enticing, they’re certainly attracting his attention! He’s got a very good eye-socket for subtle expressions and gestures and their soft smiles and quiet affection is as good as wearing a neon sign: I AM AVAILABLE AND INTERESTED, WOO ME! And woo, he shall– he can’t resist the allure of trying to coax a more obvious response out of them and he’ll gladly accept the challenge they’ve put forth for him.

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): This might mess with him a little bit… He tends to understand gestures and body language pretty well, so he’ll probably sense that there’s……something??? going on here, between them… But he’s also a little wary if that stuff isn’t matching up with what’s being said and there’s no way he’s putting himself out there if he feels like their smile is saying ‘yes’ but their actual mouth isn’t saying anything at all. How is he supposed to know if they’re really interested? Like, for sure interested? No, he’s gonna try and err on the side of caution here and hang back until they say or do something to tip the scales… but in the meantime, that smile of theirs sure is pretty, anyway…

Slate (Horrortale Sans): He takes one look at that smile and figures they either want to take it slow or keep things platonic… and either one is fine by him! He’s not the type to push, no matter how hard he’s crushing, so he’ll just try to stick with their energy and give back the same levels of affection that he gets from them. Probably the most likely to fall into a ‘shit, we’ve been profoundly close and intimate with each other for like a year now and are pretty much already dating even though we never actually talked about it’ kinda situation, but… is that really the worst possible outcome? ;3

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): More the proactive type and not one to hesitate, so if he knows he has a crush on them, he won’t waste any time wondering about those soft looks and sweet smiles– he’ll just ask outright what their feelings are! Worst case scenario, they don’t feel the same and can continue being his very wonderful friend. Best case scenario, his very wonderful friend can be his very wonderful datemate, too!
