The hunt is on!

Someone let it slip that the office, where I am currently interning, intends to hire several new ASAs in the (VERY) near future. Not that they listed this on the website. Not that they even intend to. Not that I was supposed to even hear about this. This type of in house approach is the reason why I have to intern in this office post grad for free. Why I'm sitting here looking at my student loans, and making sure I know how to spell indigent correctly. Why I haven't just done temp work full-time to pay my stinking rent!!! I'd never EVER find out about the few spots that pop up unless I'm here NOW.

I wasn't even supposed to hear about that. I just get random quasi-employment related questions every now and then from people who may or may not have some say in the hiring process. "My supervisor wants to know if you passed the bar." "Have you put your application in yet?" "Oh are you a member of the so-and-so bar association?" Ummm.... are these hints or am I crazy?!?

Although Im an AWESOME interviewer now thanks to this internship, my interviewee skills need some work. I do however know I'll never use the hippy term holistic lawyering EVER again.

Hah I applied to my home town's office and didn't get immediately rejected! Now, I know this sounds bad, but when I applied pre-bar results I got a big N O (even though I had interned in there office and kicked ass at it) within about 2 days. Its been over a week and I haven't gotten a no! Super excited about that. The absence of a no still means a yes is possible.
