teach me how to paint
How to do the paint thing, a tutorial:
Step 1: Acknowledge your brush tool. Praise your favorite brush to entice the others to get their acts together.
Step 2: Open your paint palette. Breathe deep, the gathering fume.
Step 3: Open your reference files and a source of entertainment. Surely you didn't think the act of painting would entertain you?
Step 4: Place fresh paint on palette. Become distraught over how you're almost out of every color you need and you can't afford to buy more paint right now. Reprimand yourself over how dirty, crusty, and gross your palette is. I mean really? You're going to post a picture of that on the internet?
Step 5: Skip cleaning your palette. Who has time for something like that anyway?
Step 6: Pretend you know what you're doing.

And to you! 13 16 and 17
Let's see,
13- life goals (pftt, ohgod) um. As of right now being financially independent and in a place of my own. Nothing long term really though. There are things I think would be cool (create my own graphic novel, illustrate book covers, etc), but as long as I'm happy in what I'm currently creating, I'm ok with that (if that makes sense?)
Also think it's worth typing up at the moment that I'm watching fight club right now, and "life goal" is what ran through my head when Durden's getting the shit beaten out of him by Lou. Yep.
16- ohno. Well, according to my amc name tag, There Will Be Blood. But also up there is Lawrence of Arabia, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The World's End, 2001: A Space Odyssey, American Psycho, .....I'll stop for now XD
17- A fact about my life. Ooh. Um. Hm. I'm beyond pessimistic about my own future at the moment (due to: having to move out of my brother's place, not having a "real" job, having come to the realization that socially....I'm not the best of friends to have, and that I'm ok with that. But my family thinks otherwise. Probably other things too.) But for some reason, it hasn't thrown me into a depressive spiral (er, yet?) It's just made me deliciously vindictive and cynical like I used to be in high school.

I'm gonna try and see it this weekend, it does look good
Urgle I loved it so much- going to see it again in a couple weeks I'm thinkin'. And unfortunately my brother and his gf missed the showing they wanted to go to >.> I'll never be able to talk about this film with anyone, all hope is lost, etc etc Really want to hear what you think of it when you see it tho! :D

Interstellar looks like it could be something but some of his stuff with Inception and his Batman rehash, give me mixed feelings. Guardians and Boxtrolls do look cool. Also, Alien3 was a good movie, it felt a LOT more gothic and close to Giger’s art
AHA! (a response XD)
Agreed on Interstellar, which is why I'm trying to keep myself a little less excited than I'd like to be....
But Alien3. OMG ALIEN3. I love Alien3 (er, director's cut at any rate). I went through all the Alien films around the same time (my brother had the super fancy boxed set at the time...and still does actually), AND LET ME TELL YOU. I honestly liked Alien3 better than the original Alien. Now, I've obviously had time for more viewings and mulling on the matter, so Alien has settled back to the #1 spot.
BUT. THE REASONS.
Alien was....erm...spoiled before hand a bit by my brother (bless him an' his excitement about it), so I knew half of the scares that were coming. And the age I watched it at, those BIG scares were all I was really after (I believe I was around 14 or 15...). So with the whole maturing thing, and re-watching it, Alien stands very VERY well in what it does- sure the xenomorph is scary, and the build up of tension is fantastic. But goddamn is it ever about the people (*cough*and androids*cough*) and how they interact and fuck each other over. I still think about getting a "Kane's Son" tattoo every now and then because no other line in any movie ever has unnerved me as much as that little whisper from Ash.
Aliens is just fun. Ok. I adore it. It's great. But when you get down to it it's a huge action explosion fest that makes for great accessible entertainment.
But Alien3. Holy. Shit. Fincher took the series back to where it started with the absolute dismal atmosphere, people fucking each other over for absolute scraps, and a near zero survival rate. It is so on par with what Scott built in the first film, I'm amazed that so many people hate it. Just wish the studio hadn't fucked around with it so much. And I know Fincher has since disowned the film, but ugh. For his first time out directing a feature film, with the studio dicking him around as much as they did and he managed this??? (cue sobbing)
Resurrection.....we don't talk about Resurrection.
