Peeps… look at this doggo:

His name is Edward Scissorhands

And he’s up for Adoption!

Okay, so I was just looking at a nearby animal shelter’s adoptable animals (I think reason is just masochism considering I can’t adopt anyone rn) and I found that guy above.

I’m not going to lie, I clicked on him because of his name. I’m still emo trash at heart I guess.

But it was his story that made me think

“This needs to be shared on tumblr, this needs people’s attention.”

Here’s his story taken from the adoption page:

I’m Edward, Edward Scissorhands. As you can see from my dashing good looks, I am a special guy that is looking for a special home. I expect to be loved on, carried around, and to have someone who will never leave me behind again.

You see when hurricane Irma hit I was abandoned at a terrifying shelter with my sister. I am 14yr old, but my owner left me there all alone and afraid.

When they tried to take my sister away, I was beside myself and barked. I did not want to be alone, and I did not wish to lose any more of my family.

I was so happy when they put my sister back with me, and they promised that I would never have to say goodbye to her ever again.

He, and his sister, are Hurricane Irma survivors.

They’re also what’s known as a bonded pair, two animals who must be adopted together.

Which is really good for their mental health, since some (not very many any more but it does still happen) animal shelters don’t realise the emotional connection bonded pairs have.

Her name is Kim Boggs (of course)

And they’re both only adoptable as a pair. Which is adorable.

Thing is, Edward is older, blind, and unfortunately not great with kids…

but that absolutely doesn’t mean he’s not a good pupper.

It does however mean that his (and his sister’s) chances at getting adopted aren’t that great. :/

Which is why I thought sharing his and his sister’s story would be a good way to get the word around and find someone who can help this puppo and kitty duo.

Storm Update

I’m alright, still the storm will hit late tonight, for me. I’m safe, My family is safe, and I’ll be postings more updates tomorrow, if I have internet. Just wanted to let everyone know. :)
