Not so typical lifestyle.

An mini biography told by Alison Neufang about her "not so typical lifestyle."

My mother was a carpenter. She wore a hard hat to work and fixed stuff around the house. When I was 13 my mother passed away and I was adopted by my (divorced) Aunt and Uncle. When I was 18, I moved out on my own, just to prove that I could stand on my own two feet. "Just 1 year off" is what I said, before I moved onto college, like I was "supposed to". When I was 22 I had a daughter. Then I got engaged. Then I went to college. Backward? Maybe. Completely right for me? Absolutely. Now I'm nearing graduation, I'm at the top of my program, I have a daughter is smart, and funny, and so, so sweet. I have a husband who is providing for us now, but I soon my "school" work will turn to "real" work, and we'll be part of a dual-income family. Oops, did I call him my husband? I always do, but the truth is, we've been together for almost 9 years and engaged for 6. Will we ever get "for real" married? Probably. But there's no rush. More than anything, we're all happy. Our house is full of love. I've done just about everything backward, and it's been a hectic ride. I'm sure there's plenty more bumps ahead, but I wouldn't change a thing.

There is no right way to live your life.
