Image in my mind:

Resistance!Hux having something fall off of his tray in the mess hall or something and just... freezing because now he's a little boy again and Brooks and his father's stupid fucking voices are ringing out in his mind about how pathetic he is and how he should be able to handle trays given who his mother was etc. and sometimes he would get punished further for either trying to clean it up OR not trying to clean it up, so his only solution is to freeze.

My question is though, how would he respond to someone coming up to him and telling him to calm down, it's not a big deal, he can go and get more etc.?

i've been thinking abt how hux doesn't do things in normal ways

except it's not like he's a normal person, covered in trauma that makes him act messed up it's that he just functions weirdly at a basic level

like to him the way he's acting is actually totally normal and consistent with how the world works it's just that his normal is a really twisted version of everyone else's normal and if that doesn't SCREAM neurospicy I don't know what does

I have gigantic amounts of headcanons about Hux, but this is one of my favourites! 🥺🥺🥺 For the ones interested in poor little Armitage's backstory (incl my flavor 🤭)... he never knew his real mother and has been treated like a bastard rat, before someone actually saw potential in him. (That being (grand) admiral Sloane, probably the only mother figure he ever had, I also need to draw her!) He desperately tries to fit in that first order harness even though it's not really his nature...and well, I guess there'll be a moment when it all becomes too much. Imagine him, having a existential crisis and going back to Arkanis, looking for answers to questions he doesn't even know. Somehow trying to capture the what-could-have-been. Getting frustrated during the process, a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that he is only getting himself into an even worse state of mind, whether he'd find her or not. And when he's on the brim of giving up, he bumps right into her, somehow knowing it's her even when he's been off planet since he was five. And yes, there's no good weather on Arkanis. Also there's random dramatic lighting. I tried to give him a slightly disheveled look, his uniform is not entirely straight and his shoulders are slacking and hair strands getting a bit loose from the weather. The way I like him 😆

(No one's surprised this one has a spot in my own OCxHux story arc, in the 5th part... in which certain life changing events trigger him to go look for her)

Drawing-wise I don't know what I did... a little bit of sketching, painting, putting some lines on it the messy way... But I somehow like it? I have no style consistency!
