bucky's head shook. he was just getting used to the idea there was another... version of him here. but he still felt protective of them. his job was to protect his friends and family if nothing else. he wouldn't fail anyone else. "no, just stay inside. and be alert."

bucky takes a look at his watch, noting the time it would take for emme to return home from the shift. he begins to get the kitchen prepped for dinner. in the middle of the cooking, he hears footsteps nearby and he announces from the stove. "hey, what are you doing home?"

the familiar face stopped bucky in his tracks. but he shook his head, to brush away the memories. it couldn't be his sister. people in this city had a habit of looking like other people. so it's only natural this happens. he cleared his throat, ready to continue walking past, but he stops once again, unable to truly ignore them. "i don't mean to stare, you just look like someone i know."

"nothing." bucky didn't want to go on oversharing with this guy. even if he did share the same face as him. "it's nothing." though it was less of nothing and more of, he's regained all his memory so he remembers every horrible thing again.

the last thing bucky had seen was a flash of light. then everything was dark. he didn’t know how much time had passed before he finally felt like he realized that he was seeing nothing. and soon after he saw the dark the light was beginning to shine through. a different light this time. he heard a faint voice slowly becoming more apparent the more he began to wake. his entire body was stiff as he attempted to move, though his eyes had opened to the figure above him. seeing the face of steve brought in the rush of memories that had been restricted from him before. “steve?” he questioned quietly.
