"what news?" heron hadn't been paying much attention to any media, had been working all day. though he vaguely heard a panic throughout the city.

it took heron a while to run into rowena once again. memories of how they'd gotten along together when he was unaware in the forefront of his mind as he approached her. anger still written across his face. "she killed me, rowena."

heron had only just remembered who he was. the maze having taken months of his time away again. time he could've been using to find helena, though he hadn't the first idea how he would accomplish that. he found himself looking for rowena. in anger, in plea, he was still unsure until face to face with her. "you can stop pretending you don't know me. i remember you now."

"it's a nice day out, isn't it?" heron said, trying to keep his voice remaining as level as possible. he'd finally gotten a moment alone with the other after inviting her out on a hike in the early morning.

heron had soon realized he was in the darkness with rowena. not a place he would like to find himself. but he was much too dark to find a way out. "fine." he answers rowena's asks for help. "do you have your wand?"

"i’ll make you a little deal." heron spoke lowly to the other, ensuring their conversation couldn't be overheard, though if needed he could just cast a protection spell around them. "you help me find my daughter and i'll use my magic to help you do whatever you need."

it was so strange, waking up in the middle of the town as if he’d gotten black out drunk that night. he never would have let it get that bad that he didn’t at least end up in his own bed. he checked his pockets, grateful that his wallet was at least still there. the major he’d had urged him to go to a coffee shop before he would head home again. he walked up to the doors of a shop, before noticing someone coming up behind him, he stepped back and held the door open for them. “go ahead.” he said with a nod.
