Hey you! I've been following your art and writing for awhile, (over a decade at this point holy fuk) I remember when you first posted a modern girl falls into lothlorien. You planned like a series right? I think it called History will be kind to me. I was so pumped when you first posted that, I continuously checked for updates many many years later. It was definitely a comfort fic of mine, I always came back to it . I went to read it again this year notice it wasn't up anymore. I was wondering if there was anywhere you still had it up? If you'd prefer not to share and keep it private I totally understand! I just want to say, it was one of my og favourite fics. I was always so excited to read it and got so much enjoyment from your work. Thank you so much for sharing. First of all, hello there friend (love the username by the way 😂)! It's so humbling to hear from someone who has been following me since my earlier fandom days. I had no idea anyone was even still paying attention to my work from back then (holy fuck is right. We're getting old. lol).
History Will Be Kind To Me, man that takes me back! It's been a hot minute since I've thought about those fics. And yes, to answer your question, I put those fics into cold storage several years ago. They weren't deleted, just put into a hidden collection on AO3. I've been doing a major rewrite of the series on and off for a few years so the plan was that once I've gotten enough of that finished I would be posting it in place of the old series (and didn't want the previous fics to clash with it/confuse people). And, admittedly, I'm a little embarrassed with my writing from back then. I still love the story and characters of course (otherwise I wouldn't be doing a rewrite), but my writing style has evolved and now looking back on my old prose makes me wrinkle my nose a little.
It makes me so unbelievably happy that anyone still remembers those fics with joy though! Hearing that just made my entire week. 🥹 I still have a soft spot for Alice and Celírion and I promise you they will be showing up again in that rewrite.
As for the fics themselves, I'm still not so sure about unhiding them on AO3 quite yet (or ever), but if you'd like I can send you copies of them if you're still in the mood for a reread. Meanwhile, I'll keep plugging away at my rewrite and hopefully one day you and everyone else will get to see it.
