as the weather begins to grow colder, days lounging in the sun traded in for apple picking and jack o’ lanterns, the year slowly but surely drawing to a close, people begin to make plans for the new season. it has certainly been another year of trials, but the people hold out that perhaps the next will be more peaceful, that nothing will go wrong for once.
across the city, people are getting ready for fall, halloween costumes are being planned, and cobwebs and fake blood are being tossed over every surface. even the city seems ready for the spooky season, with the leaves slowly changing from bright green to the reds and golds that everyone knows and loves. even amidst the chaos that comes with living in washington, people are ready to celebrate the spooky season in style. in spite of the all too real vampires, werewolves, and witches lurking in the city, everyone can find amusement in the holiday. even the creatures whose imagery is pasted on windows and costume advertisements can have a laugh at how silly some of the decor is, and almost no one can turn down an excuse to eat as many sweets as possible.
one morning, as the sun rises and the citizens begin to rise from sleep, people begin to check their mailboxes, finding inside each one a black envelope, sealed with a dark red wax seal indicating that the letter comes from the president herself. once opened, they find a matching black card embossed with smiling jack o’ lanterns, and gold calligraphy detailing a halloween ball, hosted by the presidential administration for the entire city to attend.
join if you dare, for a wicked affair. you are cordially invited to a halloween masquerade ball, the likes of which you’ve never seen. we do hope that you’ll join in the fun and the horror on the white house grounds. spend a night dancing under the full moon, wondering what might be lurking in the shadows. drinks and dinner will be available to all, and there will be live music and a photo booth available for your entertainment, as well as plenty of treats and games for the kids to enjoy! they can bob for apples, make their own monster masks, and join in the dancing if they so please.
as the sun sets on the eve of the 8th of october, the first floor of the white house will be opened to the public, to allow everyone to enjoy themselves during this evening of haunting excitement. mingle with friends, dance the night away, and keep an eye out for any ghosts or ghouls that may want to have their own fun!
this is a halloween ball, so feel free to come in your spookiest costumes, your fanciest gown, anything you like, just don’t forget your mask!
this invitation will serve as your ticket into the white house, so keep it on you when you arrive!
TLDR ; the white house has once again opened its doors to the city, offering a night of music, fun, and halloween horrors !! the president and vice president are hosting yet another ball and are requesting the presence of all of their citizens to enjoy the night they have designed. you are free to come in costume, in formal wear, in formal costumes, anything you think, but keep in mind this is a masquerade ball, so don’t forget a mask! you never know what could be hidden behind such things. just be sure you don’t try to leave the first floor of the white house, it’s safer for everyone.

hello, hi, welcome ghosts and ghouls!! welcome to hidden’s 14th !! event !! we are absolutely thrilled to bring you another week(s) filled with fun, joy and dancing!! absolutely insane that we have been doing this for over 4 years and have reached 14 events! us admins just wanna say we are so grateful for all of your undying support while we try to bring you the most exciting events that we can! and what better way to celebrate spooky season starting with a halloween themed party! besides, who doesn’t love a chance to dress our characters up and cause some drama on the dance floor. so, please read on for all of the rules and information surrounding the event and please as always have fun friends!! we hope you enjoy this as much as we did putting it together!! ♥

this event will last for 11 days out of character, but one full night in character , but we guarantee it will be a night packed with fun, excitement and just the right amount of drama!!!
feel free to have characters start discussing the ball now , as their invitations have just arrived !! they’re more then welcome to bring it up in threads, start making plans with friends and dates and planning their outfits!
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE BALL :
a basic layout of the white house : first floor (where the gala will take place) , feel free to explore more following this link , while the staircases will be locked off, that doesn’t mean that guests can’t get “lost”, or sneak off in search of “the bathroom”. just be sure to watch for secret service agents.
food and drink : free food, an open bar, candy bowls and caramel apples available to everyone! any fall treat you can think of has been sourced and provided for all to enjoy!
dancing : of course this is a gala, so go wild during a faster number, or finally extend an invitation to someone special to dance to one of the slower songs. request songs from the band and enjoy in every way you can!
the gardens : the gardens will be open to the public for those looking for a moment to enjoy the cool autumn breeze, needing a break from the festivities, or taking in the halloween décor. while you’re outside, please take advantage of some of the games and short mazes set up on the lawn.
outfits : dress to impress, wear that costume you’ve been planning for years, come in a full on gown/tux, or one of those blow up dinosaur suits, whatever fits your style best. and feel free to post outfits and looks now if you so please!!
get creative : there are more guests than agents, and they can’t watch everyone, so feel free to explore and slip away if you wish! you never know what could be lurking around the corners of an old home full of history. perhaps you’ll see the ghost of past presidents, or just an agent yelling at you that you’re in a restricted area. only time will tell.
most of all, have fun : we want this to be a creative outlet, so please, if there is something that you think could be at this ball, be it a game, food, etc, we’re open to it !! also, feel free to have your characters make up their own drama, to go a little wild, cut loose !! just keep it within the realm of possibilities, we don’t want anyone escorted out before the party has really begun!

To say that Keyleth was nervous was an understatement. This party was huge and she was not prepared. Sure, she loved parties and had even been to a couple that her parents didn’t know about but this was even beyond that. So here she was trying to move out of the way anytime someone came near her, expecting that she was standing in the way.
