☝️ Visited another state

I’m going to use Jennie to answer this one

So other than the states that were in the New Netherland colony, the first state she visited was Vermont (Calvin). She thought he was an gulillable kid, and wanted to take all of his land. Then New Hampshire (Josephine) kinda showed up and was like “mmmmmmm no.” She found Josephine kinda of a nusciance

☝️ Meeting Alfred

Lynn/Manhattan; did not and still does not understand why she had to listen to another white guy to tell her what to do. Especially since he’s younger. Although I think now, and over time she seems him as someone she’s friendly with. Especially when they were pretty much like heck yeah super unregulated capitalism and extreme wealth gaps in the late 1800s - early 1900s

Tim/Brooklyn; similar thoughts & expericnes as Lynn. Why’s this little kid in charge all of a sudden?

Rodrigo/Bronx; actually probably could’ve cared less about who was in charge. He just thought Alfred to be a very hyper kid and did not vibe with him well at first. Now he probably talks to Alfred about sports and stuff, but tbh I think that’s it with them.

Andy/Queens; he was a bit in the middle of just not caring and being annoyed about Alfred being in charge.

Frank/Staten Island; He’s probably the only borough to vibe right off the bat with Alfred. He was also an active kiddo.

So I should explain how I see hetalia America. I notice him being portrayed as that good neighbor in a suburban town , or a farm boy (which is valid), and this I believe plays into what we as a country think of America and the American dream. And I believe oftentimes our politics in the states portrays the American dream as a thing only attainable for a certain demographic (if you know what I mean). Which is unfair, and often leaves out major metropolitan areas as part of that dream. Idk if any of this makes sense , I don’t wanna start something on this blog.

Okay pretty much what I’m saying is I see Alfred as a farm boy type of figure and that the boroughs couldn’t see themselves like him at first. So they weren’t exactly friends or friendly with him off the bat. Plus I think they more regularly interact with Jennie/NY than they do with Alfred (with the exception of Manhattan). I have no idea if any of that made sense, if you want me to clarify feel free to pm me.

BONUS

Jennie/NY: She did not like Alfred at all when she met him. Like Lynn and Tim, she could not understand why this kid younger than her was being put in charge.
