i feel like all three baltics bois are supposed to have nice singing voices canonically but i can not for the life of me remember what strip if any that was established in -- probably had something to do with the singing revolution

Probably??? I honestly only remember the Go Forth, Newspaper Club! Gakuen Hetalia strip where they were in Choir Club -- but I distinctly remember (or misremember?) someone specifically mentioning Liet having a great singing voice and it's eating away at me

SUMMARY: On addressing sex and intimacy, and slowly healing together. Post-USSR, Lithuania moves back in with Poland to recuperate and start over, only to unpack some unresolved body-related trauma.

They remember when the two of them were first united, how young and shy they were of each other, only daring to hold hands when they were finally sure of each other’s intentions. Even then, Lithuania had struggled with their image of Poland: at once, pious and almost untouchable in her radiance, yet also impish and persistent in her persuasions.

By the time of their Commonwealth, the two were magnetized to each other – first with chaste kisses, then with legs entwined under the covers of their marriage bed. The pressing of limbs, the exploration of tongues and hands came later. They had centuries to discover the subtle bends and curves of their bodies, and thankfully time had been so deliciously slow.

War and the bitter years between had unlearned them of each other.

Day 1: Autumn, Red Apples, Hot Chocolate

There is a wildness about him in this season that is unquestionably charming. Never had I wanted to give in to it myself this much, that carefree wild abandon that comes so naturally to him.

I watch him wipe his chin with his hand, and he gives me that one particular look: an impish smirk, a dare to follow. I feel my face heat. He lightly jogs further into the orchard, laughing and looking over his shoulder at me expectantly.

What's the best thing about writing Poland or Lithuania?

I've had this in my drafts for a bit (I'M SO SORRY AAAA) - it's been so so long since I last wrote for Hetalia, and I keep getting my thoughts jumbled ;;;

I love these characters in canon, and I love learning more about world history-- but I'm gonna be real, I project like hell onto these two. Their personalities are very similar to mine and my partner's, so writing them feels seamless in that way. I like their almost one-sided banter, the frustrations, the codependency... admittedly, I write them as either deeply devoted to one another, or domestic and soft. They're either anxious as hell, or they're raising hell kicking and screaming. I feel like a lot of Hetalia characters can be taken to their own extremes, and it's really fun to see what you can do with them!

Honestly I really worry that I'm not portraying Liet and Po in a respectful manner (I'm American and I'm painfully aware of how I might be perceived in European fandom spaces), but I think... at the end of the day, these are fictional characters. And I'm writing fic mostly for me, my partner, and the handful of people who encouraged me along the way!

2. Fave Canon Thing:

Like a lot of the other characters he's multifaceted - there's a lot to like, depending on the time period and the circumstances - but one of my faves that often gets overlooked is the canonical fact that Liet is an amazing leader??

I love the Tannenberg strips so so much

At some point I had a running list of things I had in common with this guy and I can't find it, but the main thing we have in common is same hair we both drive shitty secondhand cars.

12. Headcanon I Have:

You will have to pry the musical Hetalia headcanon that Liet plays violin and sings really well from my cold dead hands.

18. Another Canon Relationship They Have That I Admire:

I honestly don't give enough credit for the relationship Liet has with Pr.ussia/Gil - because you never see Liet outright show his dislike to anyone (even he's a little bit scared of R.ussia before becoming fed up with him pre-USSR dissolution) but with Gil the hatred is palpable. And I love that for him.

Oooh, so writing Liet UHHHH it's been a Hot Minute several years but let's see what I remember

Fave things to do when writing: Highlighting the PTSD, moments of fun and gentleness in spite of his age and worries, make him philosophical/nostalgic

Least fave things to do when writing: Too much chivalry, overly anxious, making him too much of a damsel... idk anytime I trend toward a flanderization of one of his interpretations I feel a little off
