🍩 What's your favorite Chanukkah food?
I haven't had much outside of aszkenazi dishes except I have had buñuelos but that is usually during día de muertos.
I prefer those kinds of sweets to pączki/sufganiyot (It confused me a while as a child because I was like is there a difference between sufganiyot and pączki and nope there isn't we just use the word sufganiyot on Hanukkah but near tłusty czwartek it's pączki and the rest of the year it's jelly donut outside of polish and Jewish spaces. But wait turns out in Hebrew and polish these words can mean any donut)
Poles and Jews think they are worlds apart but really they are quite similar in that they both like confusing a very young me.
And then your German friends come in with their krapfen/berliners and go you aren't special and I'm like Germans haven't you taken enough from us poles and Jews? Then when you go to see who came up with what first apparently the first recorded mention of a jelly donut was in a German cookbook.
Corporate wants you to find the difference between these two pictures
I wanna try sfenj though.
I'm going to be basic and say latkes though. Although not all latkes are created equal some are shit some are heavenly.
