War and conflicts have always been the major portion of human history. Since his birth, Man has been fighting the war of its existence. His enemies comprise of natural calamities, animals and living beings of his very own species. The ways of fighting or warfare have also been improvised from muscles to gun powder to mechanical ways of fighting to nuclear power to proxy wars. The concept Generations of Modern Warfare were introduced by military scholars of the USA in 1989. Since then, the concepts of warfare generations have been in vogue. And till now five generations of war have been characterized on the basis of ways of fighting. The present generation is Fifth Generation War (5GW) or Hybrid War (HW).
