Yesterday, this "in-progress" custom set of #steinway concert grand #piano keys was just numbers on paper and an #idea in my head. Late last night, it was a precisely calculated computer model. This morning it was a slab of the finest imported spruce. Now, it is taking on the shape of a keyset. ... and another #detroit Pianoworks #custom retrofit #piano #keyboard for a vintage #steinway concert grand begins to coalesce into form. I had a good day at the shop today. DPWs new PA, Josh, did an awesome on his first day helping me to restore this instrument's keyframe, Jeff the RPT made solid progress on one of my shop's "Legacy" restoration projects, and R2 the robot and I were pushing the D keyblank forward. I'd also like to mention that Detroit Pianoworks is searching for a Detroit-area Engineering or Engineering Technician (CAD, CAM, CAE, etc..) student that is interested in college internship credits.
