Today is the Birthday from the Soprano Lillian Nordica (1857-1914). Here we see a Original Letter to the Pianohouse Steinway from 1894. She was a Star at the The Metropolitan Opera. There she was on more then 390 evenings on stage.

Martha Argerich (Borne 5 June 1941)

Martha Argerich is an Argentine classical concert pianist. Argerich is known for her interpretations of the works by composers such as Chopin, Ravel, Liszt, Prokofiev, and Schumann. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argerich gave her debut concert at the age of eight before receiving further piano training in Europe.

In this image taken at the Singapore International Festival, she is seen playing Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No 3 (Along with Concerto No 2, these are perhaps two of the most exciting concerto's for piano ever written) She really does explode the genius of Prokofiev's music on this Steinway in the most dramatic fashion - Watch this performance on YouTube

Here’s some calm art for crazy times. 🫶🏾 When I was in high school, I was in the wind ensemble, accompanying on piano. The band room had high white ceilings and windows at the very top, so it was usually bright on sunny days. The band room also had a GORGEOUS black Steinway. My band teacher, Mr. Howard, would let me come in and practice during study hall. I still think of that piano to this day! 🎵🎹
