just watched "hunger games (but better)" on youtube and im in love with it!! its such a funny parody but also you can tell that everyone (and especially grace) genuinely love the og movie. plus i love the american high shorts cast so anything they do is funny to me :P

in unrelated news, the scene where hyde healy pins down grace and gloats to her has made me discover things about myself. um.

I've seen a lot of people compare American High Shorts to Smosh and I totally get that (Ryan and Julia being the second coming of Shayne and Courtney makes absolute sense to me) but hear me out...

The first few weeks I started watching their content, the humor was SO familiar to me but I couldn't put my finger on what it exactly reminded me of, and then eventually, it hit me. The type of humor in their videos reminds me of Studio C (the og cast version ofc).

they’re my new social media fixation rn. like yea they’re all attractive, but they’re also SO funny. especially grace, she commits to every bit and i love it. i think that my fave duo in the shorts is her and ryan, they work so well together (also i lowkey hate to be one of these people, but i think they’d be cute together. i’m not adamant about it or anything, but when i see a short with them together (like that graveyard post that was posted recently and they progressively get closer and stuff) i giggle a little)

and the podcast (we didn’t read it) is so funny too!! i’m a lil sad that they decided to do a rotating cast of 4 (and grace hasn’t been in the last 2 episodes) but it also makes a lot of sense. although i love the chemistry of all 5 together, going back to 4 will be easier for the improve and jumping in and stuff. i think my fav episode so far is the great gatsby (which i also didn’t read) or william shakespeare (ryan thinking that he/romeo was the one in the balcony instead of julia/juliet was hilarious)

i’m so glad someone who interacts with me has heard of/is also interested in the stuff i’m interested in, bc now i get to talk about it !!

while they might not seem as balanced since most of them (imo) just absolutely radiate dog energy, ryan’s cat-ness is more than enough to balance it all out trust me that is a catboy if ive ever seen one
