Utterson looks at Hyde as if he had just asked the world's dumbest question- and he might as well just have. "You asked me to."
A shrill laughter escapes the monster.
"That's not it.", he says.
Hyde feels Utterson's hand on his shoulder, and he tenses up.
"You're still the same, Harry. The same light in your eyes, the same ring to your voice, the same everything.", he explains. "You're just..."
"Monstrous?"
The lawyer sighs.
"No, not monstrous. Just uninhibited."
Slumping on him, Hyde chuckles bitterly, then goes terribly quiet.
"In my case, those words are synonims.", he finally says, defeated.
He lets out a little "eek!" as Utterson pulls him into a soft embrace.
"And yet, Harry.", he whispers. "And yet I love you."
