shepards-butt: idk about alaska and what it’s like but i live right beside the rockies and its really beautiful in there.i think both have forests but im pretty sure the rockies would include a lot of hiking. also take in consideration on how cold its gonna be

thanks for the advice guys :) I'm actually leaning toward the program in the Rockies. we'll have plenty of gear to ward off the cold once we get up in the mountains but I totally get what you mean. I went hiking in Austria one summer and even though it was warm on the ground it got pretty chilly up there.
plus I'm considering moving out west one day so Colorado is probably the best choice
