Lasius niger, the common black garden ant, found everywhere in Europe and beyond.

These workers are particularly small, their nest is under a paved brick path and I only saw the nest entrance being opened a month ago so I’m thinking they might be from a colony started at the end of last year,

I fed them some Irn Bru.
