Help
I have a form of half awake/asleep hallucinations. but they aren’t nightmarish and they do contain a storyline? the story usually meshes with what’s going on around me but then very quickly changes. I remember the dream for 2-5 minutes after I awake. I don’t believe I’m lucid dreaming because I can’t control what’s going on. and whatever noise that’s around me is like very distant background noise that I can barely hear unless it becomes something sudden and loud. and if a loud noise occurs or I’m shaken awake I usually don’t fully awaken? but I can consciously wake myself up. I don’t know what’s going on and would appreciate the help. thanks! ~~~~ I’m not too sure on how the storyline relates but thats certainly interesting, there may be some form of symbolic attribute towards this? Hypnopompic hallucinations are unusual sensory phenomena experienced just before or during awakening from sleep. Their better known mirror image, hypnagogic hallucinations, are vivid and frightening episodes of seeing or hearing or feeling phantom sensations while falling asleep (or in early stage 1 sleep). I’ve experienced this myself quite a few times usually when i am massively sleep deprived but it’s more common than you think. Lucid dreaming is quite different than Hypnopompic/Hypagogic hallucinations. Lucid Dreaming you are in control whereas in H/H Hallucinations you kinda are stuck in this bizarre limbo state of consciousness where you have one foot in the other world and the other foot in the material plane. So it causes like a glitching experience where you are inbetween the two. It also sounds like there is a hypersensitivity towards your experiences, if you are experiencing background noises, this is common in clairaudience actually. The Ability to perceive extrasensory noise, sound, or other from the spirit world. Very interesting experience!
theta by Share Photo Blog Remix Via Flickr: Brain Wave States/Theta, Delta, Alpha, Beta - We have found that an understanding of brain wave states is essential to contact work, because contact is influenced by the human brain wave states. Beta is the waking state we call "conscious"; Alpha is the light meditative state or daydream state; Delta is the sleep state; and Theta is the deep meditative, hypnologic state in which most of our contacts occur. The experiences we have in theta most often do not carry over into beta, and thus contact memories are very difficult to obtain without intense training. Theta contacts are as "real" as beta ones, however the ego does not validate them. Lyssa Royal
