I think it's important to note that while I do enjoy Ralsei for his unparalleled adorableness and sweetness and fluffiness, I also enjoy him for the fact that he's completely and utterly Doomed by the narrative in every conceivable manner. So Doomed is he, in fact, that he seems entirely complicit in the narrative's goals and does everything in his power to move things to their inexorable conclusion... however badly that might end for him.
The fact that he is the Most Huggable Creature to ever exist is just icing on the angst cake (which Ralsei would undoubtably bake for you if you asked him nicely!)
