JEENSONMUEANG MIKU| UPPER NORTHERN THAI DIASPORIC CHINESE
Better late than never! Today I am giving my fellow Jeensonmueangs some well deserved REPRESENTATION with the Miku in traditional attire trend.

We have Miku in Thai + Chinese flags face paints and a historical Teochew high updo adorned with a golden Chiang saen style hair pin. On her left hand clings an imperial jade bangle, the type of bangle that is the most valued upon and on her fingers except the thumbs are the nail guards for the dance. As you can see, she is doing a ฟ้อนเล็บ, a traditional Lanna dance that is slow, spiritual, rhythmic and undeniably elegant.
She is wearing a dark grey with reflective dark cyan accents Ming dynasty Ao or “shirt” with large Pipa sleeves glimmering with neon panels and the glowy “O1” and “囍” writings. The Ao is covered by Qing dynasty inspired Majia or “vest” with a hand drawn scene of a “Red head junk” or a type of boat we Teochews call "Ang Thau Tsung”. The red head junks are the most renowned type of boat coming to oral stories and documented evidences on the ways us Gaginangs came to Thailand. In the back you can see the mountains, this is a tribute to Yunnan Chineses, the majority Chinese group of Northern Thai Chinese descents as Yunnan people came here not by boat but rather mountainous natural paths.
In the picture you can see that the vest has those pretty cyan pipings surrounding the hand drawn scene.
Over the majia is a cutesy pink gu chai gue ("Teochew garlic chives cakes") Yunjian (“cloud collar”).
Below the majia lies the dark grey and cyan zin teen jok (ซิ่นตีนจก) hugging the figure. And lastly, it's a humble detail that she is barefoot while she ฟ้อน as it is customary to do.

อันนี้จะเป็นเทรนด์วาดตัวละครมิคุในชุด วัฒนธรรมค่ะ
เรามีมิคุแบบแต่งหน้าธงชาติไทย+จีนสวย สวย แล้วก็นางก็เกล้าผมทรงแต้จิ๋วโบราณ ปักด้วยปิ่นปักผมเชียงแสน
มือซ้ายก็จะใส่กำไลหยกจักรพรรดิ และใส่ ปลอกเล็บไว้ทุกนิ้วยกเว้นนิ้วโป้งค่ะ
มิคุของหนูใส่เสื้อแบบราชวงศ์หมิงสีเทา เข้มแล้วมีลายเหลือบฟ้าเขียวแบบเข้มๆ แขนของเสื้อก็จะเป็นแบบแขนเสื้อพิผาของ จีนที่มีความกว้างแต่แน่นแค่ตรงข้อมือ เสื้อ มีติดแถบไฟนีออนสวยๆด้วย แล้วก็มีคำ เขียน “01” กับ “囍” แบบเรืองแสงได้
บนเสื้อกั๊กหมาเจี่ยก็จะเป็นรูปวาดเรือหัว แดงแบบแต้จิ๋วที่แล่นไปในทะเล เรือหัวแดง เป็นเรือที่หนูเชื่อว่ากากี่นั่งด้วยกันจะเคยฟัง มาจากเรื่องเล่าของอากงอาม่า หรือเห็นใน หลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ของการอพยพ มาไทยของชาวแต้จิ๋ว ส่วนข้างหลังจะเป็น ภูเขา วาดเป็นของขวัญแสดงถึงมิตรภาพ และความเคารพต่อชุมชมจีนยูนนานที่มาถึง ไทยผ่านทางเส้นทางธรรมชาติ เพราะจีนยูน นานเป็นประชากรจีนที่มีมากที่สุดในภาค เหนือ แล้วก็ตัวเสื้อกั๊กหมาเจี่ยมีดีเทลเย็บ เก็บขอบด้วยริบบิ้นสีฟ้าเขียว
บนเสื้อกั๊กหมาเจี่ยมิคุจะใส่ยุนเจี่ยน หรือ ปลอกคอเมฆารูปกู่ช่ายก้วย หรือขนม กุยช่ายสีชมพูที่เรารู้จักกัน
ใต้เสื้อกั๊กหมาเจี่ยก็จะเป็นซิ่นตีนจกสีเทา เข้ม ตีนซิ่นสีฟ้าเขียว แล้วนางก็จะไม่ได้ใส่ รองเท้านะคะเพราะเป็นธรรมเนียมของการ ฟ้อนเล็บค่ะ
