Panel 1: A view of the outside of the apartment, and its visitor: a freckly guy in his 20s wearing a ballcap, jeans and a t-shirt. His hair is short and spiked up at the front underneath the hat's brim. There's a dead plant in a large planter underneath the apartment's mailbox, unit number and porch light to the right of the front screen door. The unit number reads 4A.
Panel 2: The young man looks to the left of himself with a deep sigh and says "Please don't be dead in there", presumably to the apartment's inhabitant.
Panel 3: Inside, a pair of unshaven legs is visible standing in one of the inner rooms of the apartment, feet bearing bunny slippers. The person wearing them is facing their front door.

Have You Seen Lacey Meizer? VOL 1: CH 1: Pg.1: A shadowy kitchenette with foggy daylight coming in through a window facing the viewer. The scene appears to be from the inside of someone's apartment, with the locked front door in view. The kitchen is in general disarray with dirty dishes in the sinks, and food left out alongside bags on the counter. A dead plant resides on the windowsill in the sliver of outside that is visible.

VOL 1: CH 1: PG 8 Top panel: Lukas is sprawled on his back across Ainsley's sofa, with his left hand holding his coffee mug rested on his stomach, and his opposite arm rests back on the couch's arm and a cushion. He looks at Ainsley who stares into her own mug in silence from a nearby armchair. "... You sure?" he says. Bottom panel: Ainsley looks up at the viewer and Lukas by location and speaks with an unmoved expression. "Oh... yeah. We weren't really that close to begin with. It was mostly the paperwork that was difficult, to be honest. What did you want to know about Lacey? I told the cops everything I saw from that night. I'm not sure what other information I could have that would help you."

Ainsley responds: "Oh, it's okay. I don't mind." Panel 3: Lukas sits across Ainsley's sofa lazily with his arm rested over the arm of the couch. His back faces the viewer and he's looking at Ainsley, who is sitting perpendicular to the couch in an arm chair, facing the viewer with a coffee cup in her hands. Lukas: "Have you been okay though, Ainsley? You're looking a little rough." Ainsley: ... "I guess not. My parents died shortly after your sister disappeared. It was just a lot to handle and I haven't really gotten online." Lukas: "Oh, shit... I'm so sorry, Ains. If I knew, I'd have come by sooner." Ainsley: "It's fine."
VOL 1: CH 1: Page 5 Single Panel: The apartment's owner is revealed to be a young woman. She holds the front door open at a side view. "... Lukas? What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since..." She wears a plain t-shirt and has dark, disheveled, mid-back-length hair.
