Hyth comes to see the First's Minfilia as a little sister of sorts, the two bonding over their links to former lives and how those close to them have lashed out over it. While Hyth is a true reincarnation where Minfilia is more like being possessed, there is enough in common for them to gravitate to each other.

And as much as he misses his friend of the Source Minfilia, Hyth is glad that this Minfilia chose to live.
