Tonight I’m thinking about Angel Dust telling Husk in Masquerade “I don’t need you to save me”

and in Scream Rain Husk telling Cherri Bomb that what he internalized from that is that “[Angel] doesn’t need me”

Thinking about Husk’s resigned statement also in Scream Rain that he himself is “not worth saving”

Thinking about how Husk’s value of his own worth over and over again shows in how successfully he helps other people:

trying to help Chaggie make up

trying to get Angel redeemed

trying to be the therapist in group therapy sessions

don’t get me started on the complexities of which show up in his relationship with Alastor I will completely derail this post

Husk resents being needed and people wanting things from him for several reasons, and one of those reasons is that he knows his success in meeting those wants and needs is how he measures himself. He resents needing and wanting from others for the same reason; anyone he cares about and feels solely affection for, he doesn’t want to make them feel like how it makes him feel.

No one’s gonna want to hear this but after seeing how Valentino was with Alastor, Husk, and Cherri Bomb, he looks damn gentle in the dressing room scene with Angel Dust.

I already think Charlie Morningstar’s behavior is that of a new adult catching up on development because she was sheltered as a kid, but her playbill bio also makes me think similarly.

I’ve attended a number of shows to be familiar with playbill bios, but just in case I also read three different sites on how to write one’s playbill bio:

short

tell people about relevant (recent and/or significant) experience in theatre

biggest+most important info first

credits and awards

do NOT mention background or extra work

a little info about your personality

This means that relevant training and education is generally only in the bio of someone younger/who has been in the career for an amount of time that hasn’t built a long enough theatre resume to fill up the bio with notable roles.

Some real life playbill bios, where I highlight mentions of education, and the ages of those highlighted:

Charlie Morningstar and Angel Dust’s bios are the ones that look like a bio that you would actually find in a real life performance playbill. Charlie’s mentions that she won “numerous theater awards throughout college”, while Angel’s lists his credits and awards:

Look at Erika Henningsen’s bio in the same playbill, who has spent enough time in the field to have credits (some of which have awards attached to the stories being performed), and Blake Roman’s profile, who has his known roles more recently and therefore his education is mentioned:

In conclusion: I consider Charlie Morningstar’s playbill bio mention of education to mean her college attendance is recent enough to be considered relevant enough to mention, and therefore - when also considering her other behavior of someone catching up on development - Charlie is younger than 30.

The biggest difference between Angel Dust’s and Husk’s contracts is that Angel is in a cult.

Vox was the head of a cult in life, and the Vees have a cult in Hell as well.
