s/n: there appears to be a slight distinction between the skeleton flower as a whole and the single petal that comes between it and the speaker. in the first half of the song, the pronoun “it” is referring to the petal.
in the line, “so that i wouldn’t be able to find you (그대), you (넌) imprisoned me in the room of eternity,” the speaker uses two different words for “you.” “그대” is a formal word that would be used to show both love and respect, while “너” is an informal word used to address the petal. this seems to imply that the petal imprisoned the speaker so that he wouldn’t be able to find his lover, who is represented by the whole flower. the petal acts as the antagonist, so to speak, throughout the lyrics.
it’s common for pronouns to be omitted in korean, which is the case for the refrain, “ah, (they’re) getting scattered by the wind / ah, (they’re) growing wetter with dew” – so it’s open to interpretation who or what is actually being referred to in those lines. i added the pronoun that seemed to flow the most naturally.
