my angry thoughts finally bubbled over enough bc i keep seeing people shit on brightwin/2gether on twt :/ so here i am

basically, we all know that there was a lot of outrage regarding the last ep of 2gether, mostly because there wasn't an affectionate reunion. and this i get — i love seeing sarawat and tine cuddle and hug and be mushy (in private, not in front of the entire music club god bless). i admit, i was and am still a bit disappointed

however, i've seen so, so many tweets saying that 2gether is overrated and that it's brightwin's fault for being too "no homo" to act out a kiss scene. and we KNOW that isn't true bc even BRIGHT wanted a kiss scene???? i even saw some tweets calling brightwin's support for the LGBT community a PR shtick, and that they are too uncomfortable to play gay characters and therefore shouldn't be casted in a BL....

listen, i cannot begin to say how WRONG it is to equate not doing fanservice with not supporting the gay community. this may sound harsh, but if you think that your BL boys are supporting the gay community by bringing their faces 2cm apart in front of a horde of screaming fangirls, you cannot be more wrong. it's not supporting a community when you're "representing" it by wrapping the idea of 2 men dating up in a pretty little giftbox and sending it off to a straight female audience. brightwin have repeatedly vocalised their support for the lgbt community and this is something i don't see many actors doing (at least this openly) despite essentially profiting off the gay community.

the anger towards the ending is somewhat justified. i feel it, too. blame the scriptwriters and directors all you want, but brightwin have nothing to do with this. you can think the show is overrated, but please consider whether the sole reason you feel this way is that they never kissed properly/had sex? ??? it's frustrating to see people criticise brightwin for what was out of their control. it's worse when people denounce what they've said and done so far.

personally, i have problems with 2gether. it's not a perfect story and it is speckled with imperfections throughout. regardless, i love this show and its cast with my whole heart. it's fucking sad to see people angry simply because there was insufficient physical affection at the end
