A sequence of events:
Friday — I get an invite to a meeting two weeks hence to discuss what I’ll be doing at our [massive conference at the end of the month that is hosted in another state]
Friday — I enquire at what point I was supposed to know that I was going to attend said conference
Friday — I am told I should’ve learned of this in October
(October — I receive an email about this conference but due to not having heard anything from my manager about me going, I flag it as a phishing attempt and instantly forget about it)
Friday — in blind panic, I fill out the deeply esoteric travel request documents to the best of my ability and wait for confirmation from my manager
Saturday — fugue state playing video games
Sunday — mostly void partially video games also
Monday — I ask my manager if I’ve filled out the paperwork correctly
Monday — manager enquires since when I was going to attend the conference
Monday — areyoufuckingkiddingme.gif atleastitsnotjustme.gif
Monday — manager signs my paperwork and gears up to yell at the dude who apparently meant me to be going all along (from a different department)
Monday — he’s in meetings all day. Last person hasn’t signed off on the documents yet
Monday — I’m meant to be on a plane in two weeks from Thursday
Monday — I still don’t have plane tickets
