we don't talk about how I forgot his make-up
Six servings of chicken noodle done! They’re cooling off now, waiting to be frozen.
The whole time I was making them, I thought of how much I love my husband and how easy it will be for him to grab a container of soup and microwave it when he’s recovering. (Or have me do it; those lids are on there good, they might be a challenge at first)
And I even did the dishes.
I was about to look up "food tutorial" but I realized that's just a recipe 🧍♀️
im having the worst cramps ever and i have to roll 600 ish fucking meatballs tmr man im done im sick of this
Anything but making an actual dinner ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Spent all day making soup and making silly doodles of my boys.
It might be half finished but I never post jack shit about how my writing is coming along so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've come to the conclusion I simply cannot cook
I do not have the critical thinking skills for it
Thoughts on Team Kira, because I’m making lunch and very bored:
Light can just about make toast. And that’s it. He can put bread in a toaster without it burning and maybe fry something with it, but that’s all. Not that he’d be bad at cooking (the genius who infuriatingly excels at everything he does), it’s just that there are more important things in life for him, and he’s never really had to do it much before.
Misa can cook relatively well. She’s had to look after herself for some time, and can put stuff on an oven, prepare some vegetables, make an actual meal. She doesn’t like spending too much time on it, though, and prefers baking and making little things (which she’s very skilled at - remember those apple bunnies in the short stories?).
Kiyomi has had a few lessons but has genuinely never needed to cook for herself, coming from a rather privileged family. Thinks it’s a waste of time, because there are better things for her to do. It’s not even a hobby or anything. She’s decent, ig, but not as well-practised as Misa.
Mikami is surprisingly talented, but it’s not as surprising when you realise that he lives alone and pretty much does everything. He never had proper lessons, so to speak, but was gradually forced to learn as a broke university student, having to become increasingly creative with yesterday’s leftovers and whatever’s in the fridge, where everything is from the crappy convenience store a block away. Someone who got his law degree along with learning how to cobble together a meal from broken noodles, dry-as-hell broccoli and random sauces. It’s funny to imagine.
