My Opinion on the People's Climate March
Before you interrupt me, let me say this: I WAS THERE. I MARCHED. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's address a couple particularly incorrect issues people who weren't at the march brought up. 1) Trash I can attest, first-handedly, that the trash left over was minuscule and about as much as there would have been if things were allowed to proceed as per normal and normal commuters were allowed to litter on those streets as they would normally. Nothing like one would expect from a crowd of 400,000+ taking 6+ hours to walk two miles. 2) "They were wasting gas by traveling to get to the march" *clears throat* if I had a few hours I could explain everything that's wrong with using this to negate the history-making march. I'll put it simply. Our earth is so fucked up that a few more gallons burned hardly compares to the masses of CO2 that are pumped into the atmosphere by everyone else. And those few gallons were spent transporting people in order to make a difference and to make sure we don't have to spend any more gallons in the future. Keep your eyes peeled for my first-hand account of the march's events! It'll be out there soon!
