“Yurio--” Yuuri turned to address the boy sitting on the couch with him, to ask if he wanted anything from the kitchen. But rather than Yuri’s usual grumpy face, Yuuri finds his eyes closed and mouth slightly parted, a look of peace on his features as he slept. Yuuri idly wonders when he had drifted off without Yuuri noticing--had hadn’t really been that into the movie--but ignores his curious mind to take in the sight. It was such a stark contrast from the face he usually wore. And though Yuuri knew that it was mostly just for show--that Yuri wasn’t always angry at everyone and anything, that he really was a good kid--it was nice to see him look relaxed and content for once. Really, Yuri was one of the strongest people he knows. To be so dedicated and hardworking at just fifteen years old, it was amazing. And on top of that, to become so amazing because of his hard work that he wins gold at the Grand Prix Final his very first year, against veteran skaters? Yuuri couldn’t describe how proud he was in words. To be honest, Yuuri wasn’t sure he had the right to be proud of Yuri--he wasn’t his coach or anything, or someone that had been watching him grow for a long time. He wasn’t even sure that Yuri considered him a friend. But even so, Yuuri had a soft spot for the boy, wanted to protect him from the drama of the skating world and teenage years if he could. And he felt proud, proud to say that he knew the incredible Yuri Plisetsky that just barely managed to score higher than him and take gold. With a smile he stood up and paused the movie before carefully moving Yuri so he was laying down on the couch without waking him. Yuuri adjusted the blanket they had been wrapped in so it covered him fully, before reaching down with his hand and moving some of his hair out of his face. His lowered his head and pressed a soft kiss to Yuri’s hairline (he briefly thought about how Yuri would’ve reacted to this is he was conscious) before pulling away once again.
