june 22nd 2021 • finally finished a book after not managing to finish a single one since april. i finished the wolf and the woodsman last night and gave it a 5/5 stars. i really liked it. and relieved i managed to get through it. i’ve been reading a lot but most times i’d read a 100 pages from a book and then i’d want to start another one and so on. so yayy me. now i’m reading jade city, and i’m excited. it’s another of those books i’ve started a few months ago but didn’t get past the 100 pages mark. i’m starting all over again and i’m hoping this time i’ll manage to stick to it. i already feel better reading it, and feel more engaged in the story than before. i’m gonna read for the rest of the afternoon and leave the studying for tomorrow. i think i want to work on grammar (tomorrow) so im just going to relax with my book for the time being.

may 15th 2021 • hi! my body still hurt from my fall two days ago and sleeping hasn’t been easy *sighs* but i’m otherwise good. i started reading the helm of midnight which i’m very interested in and decides to pick up the joy luck club again. it’s one of the recommended books for the teacher exam so now that i know i’ve failed the exam, i can study again and so i’ve decided to read it. i’m also genuinely interested in the depiction of mother/daughter relationships and the portrayal of chinese immigration. i’m hoping to feel better soon so that i can actually sit down properly and read and study again.
may 13th 2021 - i'm by myself for most of the day today, and i've decided to have the laziest morning ever lol. no but for real, i've been reading among others, by jo walton, which is really good and well written and which i'm enjoying a lot. i'm so glad my librarian recommended to me the just city by walton which led me to read among others. i think i've discovered a new favorite author. she's very intelligent and well read and her passion for books/reading shines though the pages of her book. i'm actually in awe of her writing and how smart she is.
my goal for the rest of the day is to make a major dent in among others, i'd like to read most of it today. i also have some chores to do, but nothing too straining. i'd also like to go back to my wip and write/work on chapter two. i'm very excited about this project, but i'm taking things slowly because i don't want to burn myself out. so yeah. taking things slow and trying to manifest my best life. things are mostly good right now and it's ... well, good!
may 5th 2020 — hi, here’s a little update: i started yet another book, daughter of the forest, by juliet marillier and i’m really enjoying it so far. i started reading it last year or two years ago i think and only managed to read 88 pages, so i’ve started it from the beginning now and i’m glad i did because i enjoy it more than i did before. also, had a little dissociative episode earlier this afternoon and i’m still a little out of it, kinda out of my body, and i have a cold, so today isn’t a really great day. but that’s okay. it happens. thank goodness there are books to distract us, don’t you think? i did manage to be productive this morning though, i filmed a few videos for my online classes. but i have to admit that this whole situation is starting to be stressful, as we don’t really know whether we’re going back to school or not. i have a zoom meeting tomorrow with my boss and colleagues, hopefully we’ll know more about our situation.
anyway. i hope y’all are doing okay! sending lots of good vibes your way!
november 25th 2019 — happy place: my bed. also books. forever books. and my boyfriend’s arms as well.
