i think one of the first times lohen extends a tiny bit of trust to andromeda, just to test the waters, is 2 or 3 weeks after the interrogation incident. lohen is dragging along a decent amount of knights for whatever mission he's being sent out on for a few days, something to do with taking out more treasure hoarders, and andromeda ends up being dragged along too. lohen says it's the grandmaster's orders. (it is not.)
anyway. they get to them at sunset. it's more hoarders than they thought it'd be and while it's not a big deal exactly, one of them is very slippery, and manages to get away. lohen can't exactly leave the rest of the knights, bc they overpower the hoarders, sure, but only when lohen is with them; they're outnumbered, after all.
so he groans, and then turns to her. "you. andromeda."
and she looks startled bc so far he has like. not acknowledged her almost at all since the last incident. "vice captain?"
"you were a hunting dog, yeah?"
she winces a little because she doesn't exactly want it to be public knowledge, but lohen clearly doesn't care much. "yes, that's correct."
he looks her up and down, warily. "i can't leave my men like this. if i asked you to go hunt down that rat and bring him to me...?"
she blinks. "dead or alive?"
a little smile tugs at the corners of his mouth. "hm. let's do alive."
she slinks away, seemingly disappearing in the fading twilight rays.
she's back at lohen's side, obediently dragging along an unconscious treasure hoarder, before the sun even finishes dipping below the horizon.
