currently reading RoW and I’m only 28% in but so much has happened already! I have a lot of favorite scenes!! Navani and the Fourth Bridge! Kaladin reunited with his parents in Urithiru! King Taravangian and his betrayal! but somehow the one that stands out to me the most is Adolin’s preparation to get to shadesmar. He makes me laugh so much 😭

It’s really great, I swear. And I don’t care if u listen to the Jeno Jando or Lang Lang version, tbh (the latter is more melancholic though). Alternatively if u’re more up to a faster classical song u have to listen to the Hungarian Dance by Brahms. it’s a BANGER.

Idk what Chihiro is from, but I see a lot of the same shit with indigenous-coded characters where it's 100% a way for creators to be racist but still have the plausible deniability of "they're not indigenous though, they're elves/whatever, so it can't be racist!" It's just so exhausting ever trying to discuss these sorts of things in media without everyone trying to brush it off as us "projecting"

Chihiro is from the game/anime Danganronpa. And yeah this sort of thing happens all the time, I see it in black-coded and autistic-coded characters too. As long as the character and/or narrative doesn't explicitly say "[minority]," then most of the bigotry gets swept under the rug.

Chihiro is a little different cuz its a matter of what fans should call her, and I certainly don't think ppl who use he/him pronouns are transmisogynistic, but like, it still hits a sore spot.

Me: sucks that this character that reflects a trans female experience and was murdered for something that trans women are commonly murdered for is now being called male after her death, something trans women often fear happening. Very upsetting.
