Tuscany, part 2
After dinner, we wander along Pienza’s quiet promenade as the light starts to shift, gold-green tones of late afternoon giving way to something more muted. Suddenly, the air thickens. In the hush, our surroundings are bathed in a viscous glow, tinted as though viewed through a rose-amber looking glass, full of portent. The sky opens up. We run for the car, rain chasing us with the scent of jasmine.
