I want to address the substance of this claim, because I've seen this type of reaction from people who *aren't* just vile antisemites. However, before I do that, I want to point out that this was absolutely not made in good faith, because this blog is literally just "Oops! All antisemitism!" all the way down. Some lowlights:

Now. That said, there definitely are problems with antisemitism globally and yes, unfortunately those numbers happen to be higher for Muslims, particularly in Muslim-majority countries. However, I'd invite you to consider a few things. First, the data from the US only breaks the data down by religion for "Christian" and "None/Atheist." So within my cultural context, the ~2% of the population that is Muslim is not separated out for examination.

Second, the most recent data from the US is 2015, and the most recent data globally is 2014. Can you, dear reader, think of reasons why, during that exact date range, there might be some antisemitic attitudes on the rise in Islamic countries? A lot has happened in the last decade, and so I'd be very interested to know what this data looks like now.

Third, that number may be higher than other groups, but it's still less than half. That's still a lot of people who don't think like that and plenty within that group who are actively allies.

Fourth, and most importantly, this isn't because they are Muslim. Islam does not inherently religiously demand antisemitism. The issue is much more complex than that historically, culturally, and politically. Like any religion or ideology, it can be twisted and misused by those who would use it to control and seek power. But Islam itself demands a path of peace and submission to God. There is nothing intrinsically bad or evil about Islam and therefore anyone who is called to be in relationship with God in this way should be allowed to do so without fear or persecution or oppression. That belief in religious freedom and solidarity with oppressed demographics is separate from how they treat us. I do not agree that they have a right to treat us badly, but nevertheless, I think even the ones who hold these views are entitled to freely practice their faith in a peaceful and authentic way. That right is not conditional on any individual being a good person, because once we decide who "deserves" the right to freely practice a benign religion based on a moral evaluation of the individual and/or "what have you done for me lately," we're in deep trouble. Because who decides? Who gets to decide where that cut-off line is? And also, just because this is focused outward now does not mean it always will be. If you don't want people judging Jews and Judaism collectively on the actions of Bernie Madoff and Ben Shapiro, then don't do that to other people. Because then the message you're sending is not to those people, but to the other half - the ones who are undecided or allies - that their Islam is only acceptable to you if you always agree. If that's not the standard you would have for your group, then don't use that as a standard for anyone else's. Right?

Anyway, I will not be entertaining any more fuckery on my positive post. Fuck outta here with that shit.
