it took some time before iris finally left rose’s side and decided to venture around on her own. being with the resistance made her feel like a helpless child, clinging onto everything familiar in the face of something strange and new. back then, it was the lights and noise of canto bight, far from the best place to raise a child. now, it was a resistance ship filled with people who were far better than iris could ever be.
a strange mixture of relief and unease filled iris as, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a flash of red. no doubt, the red was the first resistance member she’d ever truly spoken to. iris wondered how he would feel about her being here. swallowing her fears, she jogged up to him. “hey. it’s been a while, huh?”
