Combiner wars madness: one month retard edition: THE FINAL SESION: DEVASTATOR
Here it is, the polemic full set, the big guy, the bigest transformer in my shelf ( maybe not for so long if i get Fortress)
At the start i was not very convinced, but i reallised how i love this figure...
Where to start?, maybe lets talk about how G1-esc is the union/combine. It pretty much is an evolution of that lovely G1 toy, has his flows (like G1 did) but that make hims lovely too, perfection is a matter of perspective(?)
Posability is not his strongest point, but the ejecution of the character and the look it has is beautifull.
He has a nice big purple gun of murder and devastation that suits him a lot.
Final thoughts:
After playing with the whole set, enjoying it and really really enjoy the merging sequence: This is a must buy, is big, good, and fun to have, it just looks f***ing gorgeous in the shelf.
One thing to point before start: people misstransform him, the shoulders have 3 points were locks into place and people lock the shoulders at the high locking point, making him looks weird (well, people who have shoulders at the hihg of the face are wierd?... no offenses...)
Now talk about him: well, he is not the most posable thing in the world, you can get cool standing poses but thats all...
But for the most part i like him, he looks good, he is bulky (maybe too much, but he is half Devastator torso). Is not very IDW or G1 but him is a good toy reincarnation after all, not the best, but not the worst either.
Transformation is cool and fun, i aprove it, very simple and effective.
He is meant to hold and store all the weapons/combine-parts, is not perfect and is ridiculous but is there...
Final thoughts:
Well, he is not the best of the bunch, but i think is not the worst either. He is good and solid.
Hope this review won’t crush your bones... HAHA!!!
Is he too much green?
Well, for me personaly, this gorgeous looking guy is the best of the bunch (maybe needs more paint...)
He is so nice looking, and totally looks like a brute with that wide shoulder spand, and he is very posable except for 2 reason:
1- His crotch splits open quite often, painful...
2-His knees start very high on his legs, so he bends like at the heigh of bellow the crotch... and yes i said crotch two times, well for real 3...
Tight joints <3
Transformation is pretty much spliting him and then compact it inside, pretty nifty.
Final thoughts:
He really is the best of the bunch, is a shame how his crotch doesn’t want to work, but there is nothing really that can be done to fix it. He is very G1 acurate and has a nice feel to him.
Today we have the green, the avenger, the shovel knight!!!, behold!!! and don’t kill me for the jokes!!! the greeeat:
How did i say he was named?... ah yes SCAVENGERRRRRR!!!
Ok no more jokes, im here to review, the robot mode of Scavenger is delicius, and the use of green and purple in him is spot on. He has more paint than his construct-bros, but he has a great flow, or atleast my figure has it: his head is wobbly, i can put him in the dashboard of my car.
His joints are not the tightest of the bunch, well he is the losest one, but using his shovel as a third leg you can make him stand.
But, the transformation, oh the transformation is so simple and so pleasant, all gets compacted and peg in to place, and so reminiscent of the G1 toy.
the shovel is a bit articulated, not a hell lot, but it is (and as floppy as the rest of the figure, what a shame...)
(shinny green back)
Final thoughts:
He is nice and green like the others, has reminiscent to the G1 toy and to the IDW Scavenger and c’mon, someone named like that has to be awesome.
-Mr floppy-guy.
-He looks nice, i’ll marry him, maybe not... well i won’t marry a toy.
-Can have Devastatro hands in use... just AWESOME.
Today’s figure is a pain in the butt but is my pain in the butt <3
This figure broke up the first time i transform it and broke one peg from long haul the first time i combine them... but men i really like it...
The broken peg...
But men, is more posable than the first two i reviewed, and the paint-job is sublime, love the headsculpt and he is very IDW (having in mind that he is not the head more and he is a leg... spoilers...)
You can do a decent shooting pose (if you don’t suck posing like me)
Transformation-ways he is very intuitive and pretty much straight to lie him to the ground and colapse parts in... but i like the result.
Crane arm doesn’t extend, but can move and serves as a third leg posing him.
Final thoughts:
He is a really nice figure and a great part of the set, maybe troblesome, but the broken pegs are not that big-of-a-deal. And i really like how that bow gives him an robin HOOK-esc look (don’t kill me for the joke, i know i deserve it).
Ok, i know is my fault that has been 0 reviews, but just enjoy this one and the future ones...
People has complain a lot, and what i mean is A LOT...
Well, let’s admit: this set does’nt have the better possability of all time, but c’mon, we are talking of 6 voyayer size figures for the price of 4 of them...
Let’s talk a bit more about the figure:
The reason why i love this figure is not him, is his headsculpt and the clever way that both legs combine with the torso of Devastator, and i really think this is a good representation of Mixmaster in IDW, not perfect in any means, but the closest we have.
Mixing truck mode is ok: but only if you think this is the front...
Actual front: doesn’t look that bad, bud with more paints aps it will be more credible...
Final thoughts:
Overall: is not a bad figure, is obligatory to have if you want like a full Devastator (you know, you can have a leggless Devastator and have him with a stick standing like a pirate), but trust me, there are some nice addons out there to “fix” (i like how it looks like this) the poor Mix master.
-ok robot mode
-ok mixing truck
-Nice IDW headsculpt
-Mighty character (I lie)
POINTS: 5/10 nobody is perfect and him is far away...
