i think the coolest thing abt francesca's plotline in s4 is that it can pretty easily be interpreted in any way you want. i personally am a huge fan of the comphet route, that she does love john but more like a best friend than anything else. lavender marriage. she is not physically attracted to him, but she enjoys his company, and they are happy in spite of it.
but i also think that the idea of them genuinely being in love with each other romantically as an angle also works really well, and is just as easy to see in the source material. she may not be sexually attracted to him but sexual attraction and like romantic attraction are different things anywho
on one hand-- francesca is going to explode when she realises that the love she feels for john is different from the love she is going to feel with michaela. on another hand-- francesca is going to explode when she realises that the love she feels for john is about to be the same as the love she feels for michaela.
either way, s5 is about to be devastating when frannie works a couple things out. and when she finally gets that pinnacle she's been wondering about. cannot wait to see that happen in 4k
