Finally watched Requiem for a dream this morning. What a movie.

The sound design, music, THE ACTING??

I can't remember the last time I cried at a movie, but I very nearly cried at the mom's monologue and at the final scene.

"Now when I see the sun, I smile"

I'll admit, at around the 10-15 minute mark, I was wondering if people might have overhyped this film. But I swear, I think I got up for a breaks less than if I were actually sitting in a movie theater. The movie is hypnotizing.

The only time the movie lost me was towards the end with the ECT and the montage of the characters. (I was hitting the☝️🤓, I'm not doubting shitty mental Healthcare, I'm doubting that a squiggle is all you need to get ECT.) But that was only for a bit.

This movie was amazing.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again!!! I love Don West. I love how he actually is one of the most selfless people in LIS. Mostly I refer to all the times he goes out of his way to help someone when he could easily just leave them to their fate. Even if he does not know them at all. He doesn’t have to be close to them at all to want to help. He’s just a good guy. I mean, it’s also funny how he says he wont help out loud as he’s helping anyway. lol. He is just -chef’s kiss-.

He’s just so good. I love him. I love him so much. Such a good heart in that man.

All I ever hear about Supergirl is "it has lesbians". Why is no one talking about all the other amazing content it has in addition to the lesbians? This whole episode is tackling lax'd gun control, and I think they did it well. A few episodes back Jimmy Olsen (who's played by a black actor) had cops point their guns on him when he was trying to help a kid, and they set aside an entire subplot of the episode to address police profiling of black people and authority bias. It also has male friendships in which men talk to other men about their feelings, on screen! Platonic male-female friendships.

But I resisted watching it for so long because all I ever heard anyone talking about it was their w|w ship wars. Like. It's so much more than that!

Somehow my boyfriend rescuing me from stressing about placement turned into probably the best date I’ve ever been on. I’ve never met anyone like him. He looks at me how every girl wants to be looked at, even when I’m an absolute mess he adores me for who I genuinely am. I admitted to him that my psychotherapist thinks my previous relationship was abusive, which after opening up to people they also believe it was abuse so I don't think I can be in denial anymore. He held me so tightly and assured me no matter what I didn’t deserve it and then took me to the park for a walk and pushed me on the swings. Mind you this was after his family let me stay for dinner even though they had me over last night too. It was a spontaneous date day where everything just went right lmao
