I hate people who view art as nothing more than content to be consumed and, therefore, feel entitled to demand better content from the content creators who produces it when it cannot be consumed in the way they desire.

Art is not content. It is not content to be consumed. It is not content to be produced. Art is art. Art should be engaged with. Art should be created. Art should be created for the artist first and foremost, nobody else. Even art that is created to to be sold often must meet the ARTIST'S standards of what THEY consider high enough quality to be sold.

Artists should have fun creating art. Artists should find the process of creating art enjoyable and satisfactory in and of itself. Artists SHOULDN'T have the meet the impossibly high standards of people with perceptions of beauty so warped that they have forgotten what people, real people, actually look like, of people with perceptions of what constitutes real art so warped that they have forgotten and functionally abandoned the purpose of art altogether, of people who will harass somebody for days on end, bombarding them with unsolicited advice, critique, and criticism, look you dead in the eye, and claim that they "only want to see them improve"

I got into a genuine argument with someone on tiktok last night because I was explaining why the trades the ducks made were bad, and they would not accept it.

The trades were bad.

The problem wasn't the trade! We needed cap space, I get it. Sad to lose Zelly and Mac-T, but we needed the wiggle room. If it had been a better deal, I would have been ten toes down for my team on this decision.

BUT THE TRADES WERE BAD.

For Zelly we got a second round draft pick and an AHL player. The player was a center. Zelly is a defenseman. We just lost Carlson. We need a defenseman.

For Mac-T we got two first round draft picks. Mac-T is a $44 million player. Yeah, he had a rough year, but the fact doesn't change that he is a good and expensive player.

So in exchange for two playoff points scoring players, we received... no nhl players. Not a single one. The drafted players will spend next year in the minors, as all draft picks do. The AHL player will either stay in the AHL, or make his NHL debut with the team.

WE GOT ZERO NHL PLAYERS IN EXCHANGE FOR THESE TWO.

It was bad. It was a bad trade. You should have heard the room in Buffalo when it was announced, everyone was flabbergasted.
