Feeling a little torn at the moment: I want to include "I Could Have Danced All Night" as a diegetic piece of music in the next chapter of the Mob!AU fic, but it would be an anachronism because the action is presumably set somewhere in the 1920s and, while "Pygmalion" was published in 1913 and premiered in 1914, the first production of the musical itself happened only in 1956.

However, it's an omegaverse fic about magical people, vampires, werewolves and d(a)emons set in a made-up city, so maybe "My Fair Lady" premiering thirty years earlier than it did might be not that big of a stretch...

Here are some random unsolicited thoughts about Cdrama censorship of LGBTQA+ relationships (which is essentially gay male censorship because there is yet to be much media interest in any other letters being represented) that probably no one will read but I must put out of my mind into words regardless because I've been thinking myself in circles.

On one hand, it annoys me in the way that any barrier to good LGBTQA+ representation does. I don't live in China, I'm not Chinese, I do not pretend to know the country's history with lgbtq rights nor would I want to press Western ideals onto others. But I mean it in a not that deep kind of way, like oh. That's sad to hear :(

But on the other hand, as an ace, it's really exciting to see what are essentially deep, romantic relationships being built without sex as a crutch for character connection. Instead the writers are forced into building a genuine emotional connection. It can't just be "they saw each other, thought they were attractive, had sex, then boom. relationship" It has to be more (unless it's Guardian which makes zero attempts to justify their deep "straight" connection and just says they saw each other one day and never got over it). It's really satisfying to see validation of relationships, especially quasi-romantic ones, without sexual components.

On the third, mutant hand, part of me is worried about shipping culture in general and the need to sexualize strong male relationships. It invalidates genuine emotional connection between two male friends. And I want bros to be able to hug each other and compliment each other and be sweet to each other without it being labeled as gay coding. In that way shipping sort of feels like it perpetuates toxic masculinity. I want more shows that show actual emotional connection between male characters regardless of sexuality.

But also. I want more lgbtqa+ representation. You feel my struggle?

So, I've watched All of Us Are Dead twice now and I'm still not sure how the Jonas Virus is spread???? Like I know it's through a bite, but that would mean it's spread through saliva, but it attacks the blood cells meaning it's in the blood. (Like the bitch did with the handkerchief and the one boy's scratch) So how are people not turned when one of the zombies' bleeds on them???? Like Lee Su-hyeok got blood in his mouth but didn't turn. So, the virus would be in his body.
