Ok so I tried reading A court of Thorns and rosses but didn't finish it as thanks to my short attention span + my sudden increase in hours at my job I only got to the beginning of chapter 3 before I had to return it to the library because someone else had requested it.
I've heard about it on tiktok/booktube for years, so kind of got what the vibe was but this is the first ever book like this that I've even attempted reading & while there's aspects of it that I like like having a capable FMC, magic & casual sex not being deemed inheritly immoral. There's others that I don't like the MC's family being so thoroughly shit just so she/the reader won't miss them at all when she has to leave & the rather misogynistic portrayals of bassically every girl who isn't the MC. Like I get judging people who refuse to adapt accordingly to their situation, but it's still giving strong "not like other girls" vibes.
However, I know it's early in the story, and there's room for character growth, so I was hoping any fans of the story (or just people who've read the series) could tell me if they think I should continue it, when I can, and if not (because of the reasons previously listed) then what other books you'd recommend instead & why.
