it’s a joke i made in discord DMs while musing the other day on my thoughts on armand’s gender re the fact that armand was loved and desired for his youthful beauty but was only turned after he aged out of marius’ ideal age bracket and it creates this unique experience of immortality where he is both eternally young but also like washed up in this sick way because he was not, like in the book, trapped in amber at that specific stage of his abuse. that experience of being marius’ beloved defined his whole human life but there’s this tension between youth/ancientness on multiple levels because he’s forever a 27-year-old man instead of a 17-year-old boy and so trapped also forever in marius’ rejection of him which is really tied to age.
