Update for people....
1-3 more weeks before power is restored. Ptobably toward the longer end for us because we live in terrbonne parish, which was dead smack in the path of that bitch storm.
It's fucking exhausting. Temps have been in the mid to upper 80s with humidity in the 70%s or higher.
Don't ever let anyone lie to you about the importance of being and getting clean in survival situations.
I've accustomed myself so much in becoming a solitary being that you must yourself be an absolute solitary one to penetrate me. Access to me is not that easy nor can i blend myself to any that easily. The ocean is so full that it barely needs any rain from the heavens, let alone the little ponds & lakes of the earth.

The concept of trying to find a partner to "complete" me is... actually disturbing. I'm a whole person. I'm not lost, missing a part of me. I'm whole.

What if...
We talk about how beautiful it is to be in pieces.
How it’s a real and the most painfully beautiful thing to watch your heart shatter, to see your mind break no matter how much it hurts, because it’s a beautiful pain, a glorious one at that.
And the lesson you learn? Priceless, right? It’s what all the poems say, all the triumphant stories with the hero’s and the vanquished. They all say it is strong to be broken, to have scars.
The way she/he walked and picked themselves up from the floor, the dirt, the cement was graceful.
But what if all I want is to be whole? What if I don’t want to be a beautiful broken mess? What if I just want to be complete without all the holes and the missing halfs? Just as wise just as beautiful but without all the scars I gained?
Would I still be graceful? Still beautiful? Am I just as strong?
