Some things I've put down in my notes as I start writing Transformers: Bluesparks
Humans are okay to have, but they're not the protagonists, they're supporting characters. People are here for the giant robots.
It's a lot easier to digest big casts if you split them into small teams.
Conjunx isn't better than Amica. Amica needs to be just as important with just as much ceremony. (Translation: romantic and platonic relationships/vows need to be equal)
Furthermore, Conjunx and Amica shouldn't be the forefront of plot. People are here to see giant robots fighting.
Elita 1 should be scary.
Optimus should still be Orion, first and foremost. Orion and Optimus should not have separate personalities, Optimus should be Orion with more responsibility and experience.
Megatron doesn't have to betray his initial cause (ending functionist tyranny on Cybertron) to be evil. He also doesn't need to slag his troops to instill fear in them.
Humans are like mice to Cybertronians. They can be cute, they can be funny, Cybertronians can like them, but the (initial) broad perception of them should be that they're fragile pests, not equals. That's how the Cons should view them, at least. Interrupting human society is like mowing down a lawn mice hide in, the Cons shouldn't care—Megatron won't threaten the leader of the mouse people, he'll just do what he wants. (I had trouble pinpointing how Cybertronians would perceive humans at first, but then I was like "Oh, it's just Despereaux!")
