This is going to be a long post for me but Whatever. On this day before Thanksgiving I thought I would give out a shout out for some thing I am very thankful for. Fanfiction. Thank you to all the authors who take time out of there crazy, busy, stressful, and family schedule to write and post. You all have no clue how much it is enjoyed and sometimes needed in my life. I can see Rusty being willing to make excuses for Jack because he’s never had a father-figure, but yeah, he seemed to be catching on at the end of the episode.

I agree with you.  His only positive male role models have been police officers or civilian personnel in a police station, and he doesn't spend much time with them doing fun things.  It makes sense that he would buddy up with Jack because he's the fun one.  It's just I really don't want him to get attached, because Jack is a transient character.  Rusty needs a stable father-figure and Jack will never be that.
