this was more than an odd relationship for sal, will was a bit of a saint allowing mara to play with the other kids but then he was left to linger with other adults. don’t play dates usually mean the other adult leaves? he attempted to the first time and kept getting sucked into this mara wanted to show with the other kids. like now, sal lingered near the door - mara running back and fourth with play-doh cookies giving them to him and cas.
“i’m sure we’ll get a stomach ache if you bring us more cookies, perhaps see if there’s some veggies to settle our stomachs.” he offered with a smile to her before returning the toy and turning to cas. “she saw hells kitchen the other day and i’ve had to tell her she can’t swear till she’s a master chef. now all she does is cook.”
